A fire hit the Hospital dos Servidores, in downtown Rio de Janeiro, early in the afternoon of this Tuesday (10). According to the Ministry of Health, there were no injuries.
The incident caused a large amount of smoke, forcing patients and staff to temporarily evacuate the premises. Several reports circulated on social media showing how the flames engulfed part of the building. See images .
THE CNN attempted to contact the state Fire Department and Civil Defense to determine the cause and location of the incident. However, no response has been received to date. The space remains open and the article will be updated as new information becomes available.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health, responsible for management, reported that no one was injured.

The Ministry of Health reports that a fire in a cooling tower was brought under control by the brigade of the Federal Hospital for State Employees. The Rio de Janeiro Fire Department was called. Due to the smoke, some patients had to leave the premises temporarily. No one was injured.

The Federal Hospital for State Employees (HFSE) was opened in 1934, following an initiative by the Minister of Labor, Salgado Filho, during the government of Getúlio Vargas.
The Federal Hospital for State Employees hospital complex is located at Rua Sacadura Cabral, 178, in Saúde, in the central area of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The hospital is administered by the Ministry of Health.
