The fire in an electrical substation that caused widespread energy declines and forced the closing of Heathrow airport in London is “now under control,” according to the London Fire Department.
“The fire in Hayes is now under control, but we will remain on site all day,” said the London Fire Department in an X update.

Firefighters worked all night to put out the fire in the substation in Hayes, a London suburb located just a few km from Heathrow airport, the largest in Europe on passengers.
The cause of the fire remains investigated.
