A military firefighter from Pernambuco was expelled from the corporation after being accused of stealing a fire extinguisher in the parking lot of Shopping Tacaruna, in the Santo Amaro neighborhood, central area of Recife. The decision was published in the Official State Gazette on Wednesday (2) and signed by the Secretary of Social Defense of Pernambuco, Alessandro Carvalho.
The theft of the equipment occurred around 12:50 pm on March 11, 2023.
According to investigations, the soldier, who was the 2nd sergeant of the Pernambuco Fire Department, parked the car next to a four-kilo fire extinguisher, placed the object in the vehicle’s bed and left the scene.
The administrative process that resulted in the punishment was conducted by the Internal Affairs Department of the Secretariat of Social Defense (SDS).
The soldier’s exclusion was justified as “in the interest of discipline”, based on his conduct, which was considered contrary to the corporation’s ethical precepts.
