Fire Department teams rescued 26 passengers from bus that overturned on the morning of Friday (4), in the Immigrant Region (RS), about 130 kilometers from Porto Alegre . According to the battalion’s deputy commander, the victims were sent to the nearest hospitals with moderate to severe lesions.
Thus, 18 passengers were sent to the Ouro Branco Hospital, two were transferred to Bruno Born Hospital and six at the Estrela Hospital. To date, seven deaths have been confirmed at the scene of the accident.
According to the Fire Department, the bus took 31 students and three teachers, as well as the driver. The vehicle was marked to the city of Immigrante, transporting students and teachers from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) for a technical visit to the city’s cactan.
The highway where the accident occurred was blocked in both directions to meet the occurrence.
