Until yesterday – the Head of Health of SYRIZA Andreas Xanthos kept discreet distances from official positions of his party, in a series of issues related to the pandemic. After all, he had shone lately through his “voicelessness” in positions critical to the official opposition.

Recently, Mr. Xanthos was “identified” through public statements to insist on his own “line” to deal with the pandemic from a political point of view: It is recalled that he had suggested to A. Tsipras and SYRIZA to insist and restore an earlier proposal of the party on the need to convene a council of political leaders, a proposal that was not accepted, while he himself did not stop sending signals on the need for political consultation with the Government.

In the recent intervention of A. Of course, it is not usual for the Head of Department to sign all the questions for which he has given his approval. This is exactly what happened today. The rest is a vulgar attempt at a political distraction of a government “crushed” by the tragic failure to manage the pandemic and the daily drama of those outside the ICU. It seems that “Maximou” decided to leave for a while the role of “Epidemiologist-Intensive Care” and to deal with the role of “editor”. He definitely has more know-how there.
