The first group of Hondurens who voluntarily returned through the United States CBP Home program arrived on Monday (19) at Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport in Honduras.
A total of 38 people landed, of which 19 were underage, including four children born in the US and one of Mexican nationality, according to the Honduran Communication vehicle.
The CBP Home, which migrants access through an application, is part of a US internal security department program that offers migrants financial and documentary support to facilitate travel back to home country or another country where they have legal status.
Each Honduran returned through this program receives a $ 1,000 card after confirmation by the application that the return was completed, according to the website of the Department of Internal Security.
Hondurens repatriaries also receive assistance from the country’s government to facilitate reintegration, explained the director of migration and foreign relations, Wilson Paz.
