First public appearance for jihadist leader in Aleppo, Syria

The leader of the Syrian jihadist rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) has appeared in public for the first time since the HTS-led offensive against the Syrian regime began a week ago. On Sunday, unverified reports in Arab media claimed that Ahmed Hussein al-Sara, known by his stage name Abu Mohammed al-Julani, had been killed in a Russian airstrike. As the Israeli Media Times of Israel reports, videos are circulating on the internet, which show Al-Julani walking through a cheering crowd in Aleppo. Al-Julani is wanted by the United States as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist, with a $10 million bounty on his head.
