US President Donald Trump said he was “willing” to talk to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, noting that his special envoy, Steve Whitkov, was having “serious talks” with Russia about his end. “We hope that (the Russians) will do the right thing,” the US president told reporters while welcoming the Oval Office NATO Secretary -General Mark Rutte. Trump said that talks on ending the war also concern a “big power plant”. Commenting on the announcement issued by the Russian president on the matter, he said he was “hopeful” but not complete, stating that “it would be very frustrating” if Russia rejected his proposal for Ukraine.
