First visit US Republican MP in Syria – met with al -Sarah

Syrian transitional president Ahmad al -Sarah met in Damascus with a member of the US Congress, the Syrian Presidency announced today on the first visit of this kind to an American elected after the fall of Bashar al -Assad in December. Corey Mills, a member of the Republican Party, arrived in Syria yesterday, accompanied by Marlin Stutzman, also a member of US President Donald Trump party. The new president met with Mills at the Presidential Palace in Damascus in the presence of Syrian Foreign Minister Asad al -Sibani, the presidency said in a press release. Sarah came to power on December 8th, head of an Islamic organizations, including the Islamist organization of Hayat Tahrir Al Sam (HTS). Shortly afterwards, Washington announced that it is no longer offering compensation for his arrest after receiving “positive messages” during the first official visit of US diplomats to Damascus after Assad.
