Microsoft has acknowledged serious issues with the first Windows 10 update in 2021.
In mid-January, Microsoft released cumulative updates as part of its traditional monthly Patch Tuesday update. Users who installed them started complaining about some pretty serious problems.
Specifically, there have been application crashes after installing Windows 10 KB4598299 and KB4598301 targeting OS versions 20H2, 2004, and 1909.
In Microsoft support and on forums, users have reported “numerous application crashes” that were resolved when the latest OS update was removed from the PC. Some users talk about cyclic system reboot with “Blue Screen of Death”.
Microsoft has already confirmed these issues for at least KB4598301. A company spokesman also said that now “work is underway to release a fix.”
