Fisker, which recently negotiated low-cost electric vehicles with Foxconn, is set to develop the first all-electric car for the Pope.
Pope Francis received the co-founders of Fisker at the Vatican, who presented him with a concept for a new vehicle.
“I was inspired by the fact that Pope Francis is very attentive to the environment and the impact of climate change on future generations,” said Henrik Fisker. “The papal Fisker Ocean interior will include a variety of environmentally friendly materials, including rugs made from recycled plastic bottles caught in the ocean.”
The car based on the Fisker Ocean SUV will receive a large all-glass dome, providing good visibility necessary to welcome the faithful. The company plans to ship a unique piece next year.
