Five killed in an attack on a Pakistani army post

Militants attacked a military outpost in Pakistan near Afghanistan on Saturday morning using a vehicle rigged with explosives, killing five members of the security forces, the Pakistani military said. The attack in northwestern Pakistan was carried out by six attackers, according to the military's information directorate, which did not name the militant group responsible for the incident. “Terrorists detonated a vehicle rigged with explosives at the post, followed by several suicide bombings, which led to the collapse of part of the building” and the death of five people, the statement said. Pakistan's government and security officials say attacks have intensified in recent months, with the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) claiming responsibility for many of them. Officials say the militants are using Afghan soil to launch attacks.
