After the arrest of radiologist Martinho Gomes de Souza Neto for sexual abuse, last Wednesday (1), five other women were at the 12th police station, in Copacabana, in the South Zone of Rio, to denounce the doctor for the same crime, which would have occurred during gynecological examinations.
Two gave testimony on Thursday (2) and three others were on site this Friday (3).
The information was confirmed by the delegate responsible for investigations André Leiras. In all, the police are investigating six cases, but other victims may still appear.
In the case that led to her arrest, the 26-year-old victim reported to the police that she was touched in her private parts without gloves and that she was even asked if she “was enjoying” the procedure.
The man was arrested in flagrante delicto for sexual violation through fraud, whose sentence can take from 2 to 6 years in prison.
The Regional Council of Medicine of Rio reported that it opened an investigation to investigate the case.
The doctor is already investigated for the crime of sexual harassment, also against a patient. The complaint was made in 2020 and is found by the Women’s Police Station (DEAM).
The clinic where the professional worked regretted the case and stated that the doctor’s documents were in active and regular situation, without any restrictions.
