The Civil Police of Minas Gerais indicted five people, aged between 18 and 45, for the murder of a 45-year-old man who was beaten to death at a bus station in Belo Horizonte. Three other teenagers would also have participated in the crime, which occurred on the 8th.
According to the police, teams from the State Department of Homicide Investigation and Personal Protection (DHPP) had access to security camera images and confirmed part of the criminal action.
For delegate Ariadne Elloise Coelho, the images make clear the “brutality” of the crime. According to her, one of those involved said that the motivation for the crime was related to alleged obscene conduct on the part of the victim, a situation that has not been proven.
“A 40-year-old woman [indiciada]the first inciter and instigator of these attacks, had seen, according to her, an obscene act carried out by this victim, inside a house where children were sleeping. But, based on the surveys carried out, this woman presented contradictory, conflicting versions and with different times.”
According to investigations, the 40-year-old woman and the victim knew each other and the Civil Police believe that there may have been a disagreement between the two, which resulted in the attacks and death, which is why she possibly presented a false version of the act. obscene.
The investigations carried out by investigators indicate that the victim began to be attacked on the Anel Rodoviário, before even arriving at the bus station.
“Other people, without knowing what had actually happened, ended up chasing the victim too, and she was beaten with punches, kicks, chairs, wooden bars and stab wounds, mainly in the head, chest, arms and legs” , added the delegate.
Security camera images show an 18-year-old young man (also indicted) inflicting around 24 stab wounds on the victim, in addition to attacking him with chairs, pieces of wood and iron and several stomps.
The attacks lasted around ten minutes and then the suspects stole the backpack and a cap that the victim was wearing. They threw the man, still alive, out of the station, onto Avenida Presidente Antônio Carlos, at which point he was almost run over.
One of the teenagers involved in the action returned and kicked the man in the head while the others watched to make sure he was dead. The suspects left the scene when they noticed the arrival of municipal guards.
With the conclusion of the police investigation, the suspects were indicted for qualified homicide by cruel means and using resources that made it impossible for the victim to defend himself.
The Civil Police requested the arrests of those involved and the hospitalization of the minors.
