Flavio Briatore defends his pizza for 15 euros: «How do others manage to sell it for 4 euros? What ingredients do they use? “

The ending of the video has already become meme: “I’m a genius and you are not: this is the difference ». Flavio Briatore show. In a video posted on social media, the entrepreneur launched a long defense of his own Pizza, and counterattacked «certain pizza makers». Theme of the dispute: the price of the daisy that you pay for in his premises Crazy Pizza. The most classic pizza costs 15 euros. For months this like the other prices on the menu – la buffalo is 25 euros, the Pata Negra 65 – are subject to criticism and attacks. Pizza, the dish par excellence of Italian cuisine, usually costs much less.

But Briatore is not there and, after having told of the success of the company, with the Crazy Pizza branches opening one after the other (the last one in Riadcapital of Saudi Arabia), attacks those who sell pizzas for 4-5 euros head-on, wondering: “But to keep prices so low, to sell a pizza for 4 euros, which ingredients used?”. The implicit accusation is that most of the stuffed pizza chefs use bad ingredients to keep low the consumer price.

Briatore starts with the most expensive pizza on his restaurant’s menu, the one that has Spanish ham among the ingredients Pata Negra. “Unlike those pizza chefs of mine who say it’s too thin … while they give you a brick with a tomato pond, I ask how do they sell a 4-5 euro pizza? What do these gentlemen put in there? They pay wages, rents, ingredients, gas, electricity, depreciation… either you sell 50,000 or there is something I don’t understand. The normal reasoning is that we keep giving a product of very high quality to customers “.

Then, to support his thesis, the entrepreneur lists the prices of raw material: Pata Negra costs 65 euros per kilo, San Daniele ham 35, Trianese peeled tomatoes 4, Gran Biscotto 30-35, buffalo mozzarella 15.

Finally, the outburst and the ancient refrain: the engine of all accusations is always envy: «When you are successful in Italy you find this anger against success, resentment. Because. Italy is resentful and jealous. I really want to see how many of the 4 euros per pizza are made ».
