Flight with 116 Brazilians deported from the USA arrives in Brazil today

In one more repatriation action 116 Brazilians deported from the United States arrive at Fortaleza International Airport (CE) this Friday (28), at 10am. Interministerial action aims to ensure a decent and humanized reception to citizens who return to Brazil.

Upon arrival in Fortaleza, the repatrias will go to Belo Horizonte International Airport (MG), in Confins, scheduled to arrive at 3 pm, on a Brazilian Air Force (FAB) plane.

In Fortaleza, the reception is being held at the Advanced Humanized Service Post to the Migrant (PAAHM). In Confins, repatriaries will be received in an exclusive and adapted room, with support infrastructure provided by the Fraport and BH Airport dealers.

The humanitarian reception operation is coordinated by the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship (MDHC), in partnership with the Ministries of Health (MS), Development and Social Assistance, Family and Hunger Fighting (MDS), Foreign Affairs (MRE), Defense (MD) and Public Security and Public Security (MJSP), as well as Federal Police, State Governments and Airport Airport concessionaires.

Repatriation history:

Since the beginning of the year, marked by the Trump government, Brazil has received four flights with deported Brazilians.

  • January: The first flight, on January 24, with 158 people, landed in Manaus (AM) due to technical problems, generating controversy for the handcuffs used in passengers;
  • February: Two flights arrived in Fortaleza, on the 7th with 111 deported and 21 with and 101 deported;
  • March: The fourth flight, on March 15, brought 135 repatriads, including 10 children and adolescents. Two of the passengers had been open arrest warrant.
