Blockchain developers Tezos have announced the activation of Florence, the sixth major update to the project, which should optimize and improve network performance.
Florence doubles the maximum size of transactions in smart contracts – from 16 KB to 32 KB. This will allow developers to create more complex smart contracts. In addition, the order of links between smart contracts has been changed, so that the application design process should become simpler and more intuitive.
The update optimizes gas consumption for transactions, especially when complex smart contracts interact. The test network function in the economic protocol was also disabled – almost no one used it, but its presence led to reliability problems and increased the complexity of the project.
It’s only been three months since the last major Edo update. At the moment, Tezos (XTZ) cryptocurrency is traded at $ 6.9 and ranks 35th in terms of capitalization, which is $ 5.7 billion.
