Flow Blockchain From CryptoKitties Developers Will Scale On Google Cloud

Google and Dapper Labs have partnered to host Flow blockchain nodes on Google Cloud. The partnership will help support Flow’s scalability and development.

According to Forbes, Google Cloud is joining forces with Dapper Labs, developer of CryptoKitties and the NBA Top Shot marketplace, to support and scale the Dapper Flow blockchain.

Dapper used the Ethereum blockchain in 2017 to launch its first CryptoKitties project. However, the NFT game proved to be so popular that it overloaded the network and increased transaction costs not only for CryptoKitties, but for all Ethereum users. Dapper has developed its own Flow blockchain, which is designed to support NFT projects and blockchain games.

Google Cloud is the third leading player in the cloud hosting sector after AWS and Microsoft Azure. Services provided by Google Cloud will make it easier for developers to access nodes in Flow. However, placing many nodes in the same cloud noticeably strengthens the centralization of the blockchain.

“It’s about helping them grow quickly and sustainably,” said Janet Kennedy, VP of North America for Google Cloud. “Blockchain technology is becoming more and more popular. Companies like Dapper need a scalable and secure infrastructure to grow their business and, more importantly, to support their networks. ”

Dapper’s goal is to make Flow as accessible and scalable as possible. Dapper Labs CEO Roham Gharegozlou believes the partnership with Google Cloud will help the company achieve this goal.

According to a recent study by Outlier Ventures, the Flow blockchain is among the top 5 most actively developed blockchains, along with Ethereum, Cardano, Filecoin and IOTA.
