Flow Studios confirm that Monark is no longer a partner in the company

In a live held during the night of this Tuesday (8), Flow Studios confirmed that Bruno Aiub, known as Monark, is no longer a partner of the communication company. The announcement was made by the presenter of the Flow Podcast, Igor Coelho.

Alongside Coelho, Aiub also presented the Flow Podcast, a talk show in which he received personalities to discuss current affairs.

He owned 50% of Flow Studios and made a repayment deal – having his share bought by Coelho. When announcing Monark’s departure from the company’s shareholding framework, he stated that the decision was taken to preserve the jobs of employees hired by the company.

Monark was shut down after causing outrage on the internet by defending the existence of a Nazi party in Brazil during an episode in which he received deputies Tabata Amaral (PSB-SP) and Kim Kataguiri (DEM-SP). “I think there had to be a Nazi party recognized by law,” said the podcast host. “If the guy wants to be an anti-Jew, I think he had a right to be,” he added.

The studio had already announced through a statement on Tuesday afternoon that Monark had been terminated from the company, but he had not clarified whether he would keep the presenter on the corporate board. “This decision was made in accordance with all the precepts of good practice, vision and mission of Flow Studios. We deeply regret the incident that occurred. We apologize to all people, especially the Jewish community,” the statement said.

Flow Podcast was the most listened to podcast in Brazil in 2021 on Deezer, according to the streaming platform. On YouTube, the show has around 3.6 million subscribers.

Bruno Aiub apologized for what happened and said he was “very drunk” during the dialogue. “I apologize for my insensitivity, but I also ask for a little understanding. It’s four hours of conversation, I was drunk. I was insensitive, yes, I was wrong in the way I expressed myself, it suggests that I am defending abominable things. I ask for understanding and apologies to the entire Jewish community,” he said.

The fact that the presenter defended the creation of a Nazi party remained among the most researched and most commented subjects during this Tuesday.

After the repercussion of the case, the Attorney General of the Republic, Augusto Aras, opened an investigation against Monark and deputy Kim Kataguiri on suspicion of apology for Nazisma crime provided for by Law No. 7,716/89.

On social media, netizens pointed out other times that the Flow Podcast showed racist and prejudiced speeches.
