The city of São Paulo will begin to vaccinate its population against flu this Friday (28), in the rest of the country, the 2025 vaccination campaign will start on April 7, according to the Ministry of Health.
It is important that this immunizer is taken annually, as influenza viruses undergo constant mutations. For the first time in this year’s campaign, the vaccine will be available at Basic Health Units (UBS) permanently, in addition to seasonal campaigns. This means that the People who are part of the priority group can get the vaccine at any time of the year.
But, after all, who is part of the priority group? Check out the following list:
- Children from 6 months to under 6 years;
- Indigenous children from 6 months to under 9 years old;
- Health workers;
- Pregnant women;
- Postpartum;
- Teachers of basic and higher teachings;
- Indigenous peoples;
- Elderly 60 years or older;
- Homeless people;
- Safety and rescue forces professionals;
- Armed Forces professionals;
- People with noncommunicable chronic diseases and other special clinical conditions (regardless of age);
- People with permanent disabilities;
- Truckers;
- Collective road transport workers (urban and long course);
- Port workers;
- Employees of the deprivation system;
- Private population of liberty, as well as adolescents and young people under socio -educational measures (between 12 and 21 years).
I am not part of the priority group, can I get the vaccine?
In this first moment, the focus of the Unified Health System (SUS) is the vaccination of the priority groups listed above. “Our goal is to immunize 90% of the priority public And we will make a vaccine available for it, ”said Health Minister Alexandre Padilha, in a statement. However, throughout the year, there will be times when people from other groups will be contemplated as well, according to the stocks of each city.
While this does not happen, anyone can take the quadrivalent vaccine through the private health network. The vaccine is only contraindicated for children under 6 months and people with a history of severe anaphylaxis after previous doses.
