According to DigiTimees, Chinese mobile phone brands have launched a new round of competition to improve the performance of their smartphones in an effort to expand their market share globally.
According to sources, Xiaomi has focused on developing models equipped with multiple cameras to improve the photo and video capabilities. About 70% of new smartphones released by Xiaomi recently are equipped with quad cameras. The company strives to increase the supply of mid-range and high-end models.
Sources said more companies will also be moving towards multi-camera solutions for their mid-range or even entry-level smartphones.

Oppo has announced that the company will build a new research and development center in Xi’an, China to develop new technologies and new series of smartphones. Oppo currently has R&D centers in Shenzhen, Dongguan, Xi’an and Chengdu in China and another one in India.
In 2020, Oppo has shipped about 120 million smartphones worldwide and plans to increase shipments in 2021. Oppo ranked fifth in the global smartphone maker ranking in 2020, behind Samsung Electronics, Apple, Huawei and Xiaomi.
