Following increase in cases, moving average of Covid deaths grows 42% in one month

Brazil recorded this Friday (10) 59,491 infections by Covid-19 and 170 deaths from the disease, according to data released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass).

With the update, the moving average of deaths increased by 42% in one month and stood at 141. On May 10, the indicator was 99.

The moving average of cases that is on the rise moved to 39,980. This is the highest number since March 16, when Conass averaged 40,682.

Moving averages consider the variation of infections and deaths recorded in the last seven days.

These numbers allow the monitoring of the epidemiological situation without possible distortions caused by possible underreporting on weekends or problems in accessing the databases.

The country has recorded 667,960 fatalities and 31,417,341 infections from the disease since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

Covid-19 positivity rate is highest in 4 months

According to the Brazilian Association of Pharmacy and Drugstore Chains (Abrafarma), the positivity rate of Covid-19 tests carried out in Brazilian pharmacies recorded the highest rate in the period from May 30 to June 5 since the beginning of February. Read more.
