The developers of the VKontakte mobile application have added two new functions: disappearing and silent messages. By analogy with the names, the first ones are automatically deleted from the chat, and the second ones come without sound. Thus, now you don’t have to worry that chats will be littered with memes, jokes and other not very important information – such messages will disappear at the time set by the user. The period of their “life” can last from 15 seconds to 24 hours, after which the message “The message has disappeared” remains in the chat. It is convenient to send quiet messages at night or at any other inconvenient time. This is especially true when the interlocutor forgot to turn on the “Do not disturb” mode on the smartphone.
To send a silent or disappearing message, you need to hold down the send button and select the appropriate type. A similar opportunity with exactly the same implementation has been present in the Telegram messenger for a long time.
Earlier, in the VKontakte application, it became possible to edit or delete messages for all participants in the correspondence. In the VK messenger, you can not only communicate, but also exchange files (up to 2 GB), recognize voice messages, synchronize contacts from the phone book.
