Google has begun to make changes to the design of the “Incognito” tab in its proprietary Chrome browser.
As TechDows and 9to5google pointed out, an early test build of Chrome Canary for Android began testing a new design for the Incognito Mode tab. It is noted that it is disabled by default and must be manually activated. Ultimately, however, this design option could replace the current Incognito user interface in all stable versions of the world’s most popular browser – for Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS and Mac.
The new version of the Google Chrome Incognito tab does not fundamentally change the overall look. However, the information on it is presented differently. Up to this point, Google promised that “Chrome will not store information” about browsing history, cookies and site data, information that the user specifies in forms, and also explained which user actions “will be visible” and to whom.
In the new version, Google more clearly clarifies “What Incognito does” and “What Incognito does not”. Interestingly, the new design has removed the switch for blocking third-party cookies.
Apparently, the more obvious and understandable design was Google’s response to the lawsuit filed against the company in early 2021. A class action lawsuit in the United States seeks at least $ 5 billion in damages because Incognito allows websites, including Google, to collect personal information from users.
