His last breath at the age of 50 was left by their drummer Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins. The unpleasant news was announced by the famous American rock band through its Twitter account, without specifying the cause of his death.
“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins”mentions, among other things, the relevant post.
The band, one of the most influential and critically acclaimed alternative rock bands, was set to play next Friday in Bogota, the capital of Colombia, on the occasion of the Estéreo Picnic Festival.
“His musical spirit and his contagious smile will forever be etched in the memory of all of us”added to the announcement of the death of 50-year-old Hawkins.
Taylor has been a member of the Foo Fighters since 1997 and has starred in some of their biggest hits, such as “Learn to Fly” or “Best of You”. He had previously played drums for independent Canadian singer Alanis Morissette.
