‘Foot’ with opposition for pandemic – accuracy

They have stopped “seeing” a lockdown in Koumoundourou, not because they share optimistic predictions that the Omicron mutation will “give” fewer hospitalizations and the National Health System will not be further pressured, but because they are sure that to the extent that there will be no dramatic change in the data. , the government has decided to take restrictive “type” lockdown measures without formally imposing closure of the economy and society, in order not to have to support the victims in practice.

They are now openly accusing the government of an informal lockdown in activities that will cause catastrophic losses to companies and employees, which will not take a formal form so that the “pouch” of the state coffers does not have to be opened.

Hence, they are already asking for support before the announcements for the acceleration of the implementation of the measures, support in every sector that is affected by the restrictive measures in general and in the catering in general, in particular (and not only in the night entertainment which in fact after the new data accepts wound).

Although they do not present it as an official proposal and position in SYRIZA, given the gloomy predictions made by Alexis Tsipras, experts with whom he holds meetings and is in an “open” line, have formed the belief that epidemiological conditions as they are formed. with the new mutation, the super-contagious one that causes an explosive increase in cases especially in urban centers, a “padlock” on activities was probably the most ideal health scenario to break the transmission chain.

Pandemic

Of course, they do not support such a possibility, nor do they even chant it. .

The attacks on the prime minister (and) by the president of SYRIZA are at the top of the opposition agenda. The pandemic concerns one side, which is at the forefront of the news every day, especially in the last twenty-four hours that the shocking increase in cases due to Omicron, has led to back-and-forth government decisions and has gathered the “fire” of the entire opposition. and not only of Koumoundourou.

However, SYRIZA maintains that the measures they have been asking for for weeks could have worked exponentially: Increasing teleworking to the highest possible level at least in Athens-Thessaloniki, prescribing mass detection tests (not only rapid but also molecular), tightening the protocol for operation of schools and strengthening of the NSS – and in terms of the operation of primary care.

They are not expected to renew their “quiver” with newer measures. Extension of mandatory vaccination in general (apart from the Security Forces and the Armed Forces) will not be requested by the main opposition party (as KINAL has done, for example, which calls for an extension of mandatory throughout the public sector). This is, after all, an issue that “divides” SYRIZA within itself.

When it was proposed by Grigoris Gerotziafas, a professor of hematology and a member of the think tank of Alexis Tsipras’s advisers on health issues, the president of SYRIZA distanced himself from his advisor and not by chance.

It is not only the political costs that weigh on SYRIZA – the political costs are not only calculated by the government in what it (does not) implement or (does not) decide. There is also an issue of “disagreement” within SYRIZA, mainly from executives who propose very serious objections to the obligation, such as e.g. the head of the party, Andreas Xanthos, expressed opposition to the logic of obligation.

Tactic

The second shooting range for SYRIZA will be in the tears of 2022, to be exact. Measures, support, criticism of the government for oligarchy, indifference and pursuit of only the interests of the “few” and big business, will remain high on the opposition menu. On all of them, he will continue to fire the government with accusations that it is ineffective and indifferent in this field as well.

With a view to the deconstruction of the prime minister and the ruling party, 2022 will “enter” for the party of the official opposition, which for the time being is betting on an “explosion” of accumulated dissatisfaction of the electorate.

The polls that follow in Koumoundourou, show the gap between N.D. and SYRIZA at 8 points and the estimate is that it will close even more in the near future. They do not underestimate the popular rise of KINAL, which they “read” as threatening for the ruling party and not for themselves.

This is another reason why the central line in SYRIZA is: No attacks on the Movement for Change and Nikos Androulakis. The “slogan” was given first by Alexis Tsipras and was unabashedly adopted by all its executives – without disagreements for the time being.

At the same time, they are marching in the official opposition with a schedule in February for the third SYRIZA congress. Regardless of whether the epidemiological conditions will allow the program to be observed, Koumoundourou wants to be “ready” and combative by then. Opera means that SYRIZA will soon have to fully settle its internal party issues and outstanding issues. And without giving “handles” that he is tormented by introversion.
