Kaue do Amaral Coelho, identified by the Civil Police as the PCC scout suspected of warning about the arrival of Vinícius Gritzbach at Guarulhos Airport, before the execution, on November 8 jHe tried his hand at a career as a football player, was arrested for drug possession and, according to witnesses, has become a regular churchgoer in recent times.
The suspect revealed in a statement about a case that sentenced him to socio-educational measures for drug possession that the stamps found on his expired passport were souvenirs from his career as a football player. He claimed to have played in countries such as Portugal, Spain, Finland and Sweden. However, his career was interrupted between 2017 and 2018 due to a knee injury.
With the interruption of his sporting career, Kaue would have started attending electronic parties, where he began using synthetic drugs. According to the court case, he consumed high doses of ecstasy pills, using up to 50 units in a single weekend.
An excerpt from the process highlights the exaggerated use: “I was addicted and consumed it even on normal days and not just at parties. During the week I used large quantity of pills. I used up to forty to fifty pills on a weekend”, says the document.
Arrest for drug possession
In August 2022, Kaue was arrested in an attack by the Military Police, who were trying to catch illegal motorcycles traveling in the North Zone of São Paulo. With him, 1,009 MDA tablets, known as “bullet”, were found. Witnesses interviewed during the process described Kaue as a frequent consumer, but denied his involvement in drug trafficking.

Judge Marcus Alexandre Manhães Bastos concluded that the drugs were for personal use, applying socio-educational measures instead of convicting him of trafficking. During the time he was detained, Kaue spent 55 days in the Provisional Detention Center I, in Pinheiros.
After his release, Kaue reportedly sought religion and gave up drugs, becoming a regular attendee of a church in his community. The local pastor confirmed her regular presence at services.
Involvement with the PCC
Although there is no mention of the PCC in the court documents regarding the suspect’s only arrest, according to the police, Kaue was involved in the death of the man who reported alleged collusion between the São Paulo police and organized crime. According to investigations, he would have passed on information about the victim’s location, contributing to the crime.
Kaue remains at large, while the Task Force investigating the case says it is convinced that organized crime was involved in Gritzbach’s death and does not rule out the involvement of police officers.
The Government of São Paulo will pay a reward of up to R$50,000 for information .
