Footbridge of the Waterfalls is closed due to the volume of water

The Iguazu National Park one of the most important tourist destinations in Brazil, had to interrupt visitation this Friday morning (3).

With the flooding of the Iguaçu River, the flow of the waterfalls was the highest in the last five years, reaching ten million liters per second. As a result, the entrance to the Garganta do Diabo walkway, which is normally crowded with visitors, was prohibited.

In a statement released by the Park’s management, the flow was seven times above average.

For those who have already visited the destination, the spectacle of the Waterfalls can be seen from the beginning of the path to the footbridge, so it was still possible to have a view of the waterfalls from other viewpoints spread along the walk.

Normally, there is a significant increase in the volume of water in the month of July and the forecast, according to the Park, is that the flow will remain at the medical level of two million to five million liters per second – guaranteeing an unforgettable experience for those who visit. the Falls at this time.

During this month, the Park remains open from Tuesday to Sunday, and as of July 9, it will reopen every day, including Mondays. For the tour, it is recommended to buy the ticket online and in advance at the official site.
