The Italian minister referred to the next strategic moves for the restart of his area of responsibility Tourism Massimo Garavalia, in today’s interview with La Stampa newspaper.
“We are working with the aim of reopening the beaches in May, of course in this first phase with enhanced security protocols. “I would be satisfied if, as happened last year, we make it to mid-May,” Garavalia said.
“However, until June 2, when the Italy to celebrate its reigning Republic, they should have reopened all or almost everything “, he added, as broadcast by AMPE.
The Italian minister also stressed that “in his field, planning is crucial, always always taking into account the epidemiological elements”.
Referring to specific examples, Garavalia told La Stampa that one of the activities that may reopen relatively soon is that of international exhibitions and conferences, while he expressed the hope that in April the Italian restaurants can reopen normally.
Regarding the “green digital pass”, the Italian Minister of Tourism is of the opinion that it should take effect before June 15 in order for this free movement of citizens to allow the timely planning of the holidays.
Finally, regarding the “covid free” islands, Garavalia stressed: “we can and must do the same. Because if others do and we do not, the disadvantage will be huge. Greece says it will reopen on May 15 (provided one brings a negative test) and will offer covid free islands. “If we remain inactive, we will cease to be competitive.”
