Google has been fined 4 million rubles for distributing inaccurate data on the losses of the Russian Armed Forces during a special operation in Ukraine and civilian casualties on its YouTube video service.
The decision in the absence of a representative of Google, who did not appear in court, was read out by Judge Timur Vakhrameev: “The court found Google guilty under Part 2 of Art. 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Failure to delete information prohibited in the Russian Federation.” She was sentenced to a fine of 4 million rubles.”

The materials of the case referred to videos containing unreliable information about intercepts of Russian military telephone conversations with relatives allegedly held by the SBU, where they report heavy losses, as well as videos with information about executions of retreating Russian troops by barrage detachments.
Russian courts regularly impose fines on foreign IT companies for refusing to remove prohibited content on the Russian segment of the Internet.
