Last year was a record year in the Russian automotive market: Russians spent 22% more over the year than a year earlier. At the same time, the previous record for the amount of money spent was recorded in 2019, when total spending amounted to 2.57 trillion rubles. The Russian market of new cars for the first time exceeded the mark of 3 trillion rubles.
The specialists note that the increase in prices was primarily due to the increase in the weighted average price, which increased by almost 20% last year. There was also a 3% increase in sales volume.
The main driver of price growth remains the shortage of cars, which is caused by a global shortage of semiconductor products.
