Billionaire American businessman Jared Isaacman, sponsor of the first fully civilian space flight, announced at a briefing about a significant redesign of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft for this mission.
The ship, named Inspiration4, will take crew commander Isaacman and three other people into orbit. Its bow will have a transparent hemisphere, reminiscent of the Cupola on the International Space Station.
On such commercial missions, Crew Dragon will not dock with the ISS. For this reason, SpaceX decided to completely replace the ship’s docking adapter with a transparent monolithic dome.

If SpaceX’s render matches real-world design changes, the dome could be roughly 1.4m in diameter and up to 60cm deep, Teslarati writes. This version of the ship will only be used for tourist missions.
