Sergei Mingazov, journalist for the Russian edition of Forbeswas arrested on suspicion of disseminating false information about the Russian Army, the magazine reported this Friday (26).

A Forbes Russia said it was unable to contact the reporter.
Laws passed shortly after Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 mandate long prison sentences for people convicted of deliberately spreading false news about the military.

The Kremlin denied that its troops had executed people and said there had been a “monstrous forgery”.
Mingazov's Telegram channel contains dozens of publications referring to Bucha. It was unclear which of these was the reason for placing him under investigation.
Russian human rights project OVD-Info said the Khabarovsk district court would consider placing him under formal arrest on Saturday.
