Ford, BMW and Honda cut car production due to chip shortages


Car manufacturers were among the first to experience a shortage of microcircuits. And now three more car brands have announced a cut in production.

Automakers on three continents have warned of production cuts, Bloomberg reports. For example, the American auto giant Ford said that the shortage of chips could lead to a halving of car production in the current fiscal quarter. Japan’s Honda has announced that it will halt production at its three plants in the Land of the Rising Sun for at least five to six days next month. And BMW has warned of supply delays at its facilities in Germany and the UK.
