After shipping a small number of Mustang Mach-E electric vehicles last year, Ford has postponed further shipment to allow for “additional quality checks.”
Mustang Mach-E shipments officially began last month. This is a major milestone for the automaker, considering the Mach-E is Ford’s first electric vehicle built from the ground up.
Delayed deliveries were reported to buyers who expected to receive the vehicles in the coming weeks. Some of the notifications said they would have to wait another month.
A Ford spokesman confirmed to the source that there is a delay:
As part of our commitment to delivering high quality vehicles, we are performing additional quality checks on several hundred Mustang Mach-E models built prior to shipping to dealerships last month. We want them to match the quality that our customers expect and deserve.
The automaker did not elaborate on what caused the need for additional quality checks.
