Ford will work with Route Zero whose mission is 100% pure electric cars worldwide by 2040 and in the largest markets by 2035.
The move follows a series of previous Ford commitments under President J.’s agenda. Biden to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the US by 50% -52% by 2030 and the announcement that Ford is on track to achieve sales of pure electric cars in the US by 40% -50% by 2030. Ford has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its facilities by at least 50% in the same time frame.
At the same time, in Europe Ford estimates that 40% of its global vehicle mix will be purely electric by 2030. All passenger cars sold in the “Old Continent” will be fully electric in the same time frame, while two-thirds of Commercial vehicle sales will be purely electric or plug-in hybrid by 2030.
