Forecast is that 5G will reach capitals in July 2022, says expert

It is scheduled for this Thursday (4) the holding of the much discussed and awaited auction of 5G, the latest world standard for high-speed mobile internet, which is about to arrive in Brazil. Fifteen companies sent proposals to Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency).

TO CNN, Marcos Ferrari, executive president of Conexis Brasil Digital, stated that the forecast is to have the 5G in Brazilian capitals as of July 2022, which may be anticipated in some locations.

Asked if the country has the structure to offer the technology to the population, Ferrari explained that in the last two years there has been a great advance in national legislation, as well as tax relief, which are important factors to pave the way for 5G.

However, he said, there are points to be made. “The tax burden on telecommunications, which is prohibitive for a certain group of the population, as our tax burden is almost 50%, while in the rest of the world it is 10%. I also cite the municipal antenna laws. In other words, each municipality has an antenna law, but the local authorities did not pay attention to the importance of adapting the municipal antenna laws to the federal antenna law.”

Another important point in Ferrari’s assessment is the low qualification of the workforce and the incidence of theft and theft of cables.
