Brazil lost US$ 184 million in net terms for the exchange contracted last week, according to data from the Central Bank this Thursday (13), with a strong deficit in the trade account more than offsetting inflows on the financial side.
There was a net outflow of US$ 1.083 billion through commercial operations last week, against a positive balance of US$ 3.383 billion in the week ended September 30.
The financial account, in turn, received entries worth US$ 899 million last week, which coincided with the first five working days of October. In the period from September 26 to 30, financial operations had recorded a deficit of US$ 3.338 billion.
Last month, Brazil registered a deficit of US$ 3.850 billion for the contracted exchange as a whole, the weakest monthly result since May (US$ 5.760 billion less) and the worst for September since the US$ 6.446 billion deficit recorded in 2019.
The foreign exchange flow is still positive at US$ 17.151 billion in 2022.
