Foreign Gang that stole cell phones is arrested in Porto Alegre

The Federal Highway Police (PRF) arrested a Foreign Gang Specializing in Cell Phones and Card on Friday night (7), on BR-290, in Porto Alegre. During the approach, a Peruvian sought by Interpol was arrested.

According to the PRF, the police received information that a car, used by criminals to carry out cell phones and cards in Balneário Camboriú (SC), would be circulating through the region of Porto Alegre.

In the vehicle were a 34 -year -old Peruvian woman, a 26 -year -old Bolivian, a 39 -year -old Peruvian man and a 26 -year -old Brazilian. According to police, all have criminal records for receiving, theft and gang involvement.

The Peruvian woman handed the police a fake document, but her true identity was discovered. The suspicion had a pre -trial detention warrant and an open extradition. In addition, her name was on Interpol’s red alert. Peruvian responds in her country for the crime of aggravated kidnapping.

The police team received information about a theft in Santa Catarina, where images of security cameras recorded stolen credit cards being used for purchases totaling more than $ 10,000. The recording shows the Peruvian and another Bolivian performing the crime.
