Foreign Minister: Great concern for the developments, especially in Mariupol

Greece, with a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reiterates its call for the creation of humanitarian corridors from the cities of Ukraine, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross, in order to ensure the supply of the civilian population, as well as the possibility of their escape to safer areas.

In its announcement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that “we continue to watch with great concern the dramatic developments, especially in the area of ​​Mariupol, where the Greek element has lived for centuries and the Consul General, Manolis Androulakis, is still present.”

He also called on “everyone to respect humanitarian law and to avoid targeting the civilian population” and stressed that Greece is making every effort in this direction.
