A ex-BBB Ariadna Arantes used his social networks to vent, this Tuesday (21), about the depression diagnosis which you recently received.
“I was diagnosed with depression. I confess that accepting this reality was a challenge, mainly because of the prejudices that surround these conditions”, wrote the influencer in the caption of a video on Instagram.
“I want you to know that I’m fine and I’m taking care of myself with the help of medication and professionals,” he added. “I hope my experience can help other people understand themselves better and seek the help they need. Don’t be afraid to talk about what you’re feeling and seek support.”
In the video, she said that she still finds it very difficult to talk about the diagnosis: “I always had a bit of 'preconceptions' with this topic”. But she stated that she felt obliged to speak out on the matter because she was a public figure.
Ariadna revealed that she had a panic attack in the last edition of Rock in Rio and decided to seek psychiatric help after that episode.
“First came the diagnosis of ADHD and, soon after, the diagnosis of anxiety disorder,” she explained. “I recently discovered this depressive condition and it was a surprise for me.”
“It was a surprise,” said the ex-BBB. “I always believed that depression was something that came with a genetic condition and I never had it in my family.”
According to Ariadna, she was feeling “very tired”, but attributed the change to the fact that she was getting older — the former BBB star turns 40 next month.
“I thought it was all about age: I don't want to go out, I'm lazy, I'm sedentary, I don't want to work out, I don't want to eat”, she explained how she felt.
Now, Ariadna is taking medication to treat her depression, and says she has already felt a “huge difference” in her mood.
