Doctors, the former BBBs Amanda Meirelles (BBB23), Marcela McGowan (BBB20) and Thelma Assis (BBB20), they were, this Tuesday (7), to Rio Grande do Sul as volunteers to help flood victims in the state.
Amanda, BBB23 champion, used her Instagram stories on Monday (6), to explain that she had intended to go to the state to help however she could, but that she had not yet managed to do so as some roads were still blocked and others at risk of collapse.
She also asked her followers for help with donations of money and medicines to take to the state. “Several groups mobilized, making large donations, in the last few days there were R$ 25 thousand reais, you move me a lot, thank you for helping others and making me want to be a better person every day”, she shared.
Shortly afterwards, she shared a video packing the collected medicines into a suitcase.
The doctor also said that she would have two friends with her in this: Thelma Assis and Marcela Mc Gowan. This Tuesday morning (7), Amanda published a photo amidst suitcases and tagged the other doctors.
Almost 80% of the cities in Rio Grande do Sul were affected by the rains that have hit the state since the beginning of last week, according to a report released by Civil Defense this Tuesday afternoon (7).
According to the report, 397 of the 497 cities in Rio Grande do Sul were affected by the storms – equivalent to 79.88% of the total. In other words, only 100 did not have any impact related to rain.
