The former CEO of the largest crypto exchange Binance, Changpeng Zhao, plans to write a book during his four-month sentence in prison.

Changpeng Zhao wrote on social media X that he will focus on writing during his upcoming “retreat.” Zhao's hint about creating a book sparked curiosity among his followers, as Zhao is one of the key figures in the cryptocurrency community. He did not specify what his creative work would be about. However, there are suggestions that in a future book, Zhao may talk about his experience in running a crypto business and share his thoughts that will be of interest to both ordinary traders and executives of industry companies.

In April, Zhao was sentenced to four months in prison. The punishment follows his November resignation as CEO of Binance, when Zhao pleaded guilty to money laundering charges. Binance agreed to pay a fine of $4.3 billion. Despite the problems with regulators, Zhao said that his departure from Binance does not mean a loss of interest in cryptocurrencies, so he will continue to contribute to the development of the industry.

In March Zhao launched Giggle Academy, a free educational initiative to teach finance and blockchain to youth from low-income families. Giggle Academy will be staffed by teachers with hands-on digital skills and game developers. The training will cover the areas of programming, art, blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI). According to Zhao, creating an educational platform that will be accessible to everyone will be the next important stage in his life.

In late April, Zhao apologized for failing to properly establish know-your-customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) controls.
