Changpeng Zhao’s formal release date was supposed to be September 29, but since his release date falls on a weekend, according to American prison rules, he was released two days earlier. Since his release, Zhao has accessed his $60 billion fortune.
During the court hearing, Zhao told reporters about his intention to create a free educational platform for disadvantaged children around the world.
Regarding future activities in the digital finance industry, the former head of Binance was cautious. He told reporters that in addition to family and charity, he could turn his attention to the development of some projects in the cryptocurrency industry outside the United States, for example, in Asia or Africa.
When asked to comment on Zhao’s release, Binance officials said the top shareholder is only 47 years old, which is the starting age for many top executives. Therefore, the influence of the Binance co-founder will be felt in the crypto market for many years to come.
Previously, the current CEO of Binance, Richard Teng, confirmed that Zhao was permanently disqualified from managing the business and would not be able to hold important positions on the exchange.
