Director and actor Dennis Carvalho, 75, has been hospitalized in serious condition at the CopaStar Hospital, in Rio de Janeiro, since Monday (26).
The information was confirmed to CNN by CopaStar who stated that the director is under the medical care of the hospital team. According to the hospital, the reason for the hospitalization will not be disclosed at the request of the family.
Dennis Carvalho debuted on TV Globo acting, in 1975, in the first version of the soap opera Roque Santeiro, which was censored by the Military Dictatorship. He worked at the network until June of this year, directing more than 40 works, including soap operas, miniseries and specials.
Known for his presence in front of and behind the scenes on the small screen, Carvalho was a director in Globo soap operas such as “Selva de Pedra” (1972), “Roda de Fogo” (1986), “Vale Tudo” (1988), “Fera Ferida” ( 1993), and ‘Celebrity’ (2003).
He even acted in plots such as “Brega & Chique” (1987), “Mico Preto” (1990), “O Mapa da Mina” (1993), “Pátria Minha” (1994) and “História de Amor” (1995), all from Globo.
