Former gospel singer John Lucas formerly known as João Figueiredo, husband of Sasha Meneghel used social media last Tuesday (13) to vent to the attacks it has received from Christians regarding your faith.
On X, formerly Twitter, the 24-year-old artist, who is now pursuing a career in pop, said that “the award for the most boring people goes to believers”. “Moralally, I don’t think even Jesus can handle it,” he wrote.
and the award for the most annoying people on earth (with exceptions) goes to: BELIEVERS! Girl, I don’t think even Jesus can handle it…

According to the musician, the criticism and malicious comments began after his decision to change the musical aspect and especially with the arrival of Carnival 2024, which he enjoyed alongside his wife and Bruna Marquezine, a friend of the couple.
“I can’t understand… loving Christ doesn’t stop you from anything. You have to be fair, faithful to God and not do evil, but they don’t understand,” said one follower.
João then agreed and continued the outburst. “Do you know what they want? Let me go public and shout to everyone: 'I'm not a Christian. They would rather me not love Jesus than love Jesus and go to Sapucaí (laughs), it’s bizarre, but it’s true,” he declared.
The artist also took the opportunity to talk about the prejudice of evangelicals and stated that the majority prefer to see people far from the precepts of Christ, rather than being who they are within the religion.
Most would rather see the person as distant from Christ, rather than Christ being WHO THEY ARE. I receive thousands of messages every week from people who call themselves Christians, insulting me, attacking me… telling me to leave my faith behind. the reason? I'm not like they are, I'm not…

In the end, João left some advice for his followers. “[…] Know that Jesus doesn't look like that. And as much as these people claim to represent him, they don't even come close to that, and if he were among us today, he would be crucified again by them”, he guaranteed.
If I have advice for you who identify with this, know that Jesus doesn't look like this. and as much as these people claim to represent him, they don't even come close to that, and if he were among us today, he would be crucified again by them, Pharisees.

Career redirection
João Lucas, who was successful as a gospel singer, recently announced that he would take a new direction in his musical career.
In addition to changing his artistic name, which was previously João Figueiredo, the musician also entered the pop scene. His first working song was “Meu Bem” – a special composition for his wife.
