Former military police officer is arrested for criminal association and corruption in RJ

The Federal Police arrested on the morning of Monday (24), in Niterói (RJ), the former military police officer Deveraldo Lima Barreira, for armed criminal association and active corruption. The PM was the target of Operation Permit, launched by the PF in 2010.

According to the PF, the action took place inside a gym located in the Icaraí neighborhood of Niterói. According to the information, the prisoner was one of the members of the security troop of one of the main offenders of Rio de Janeiro. The 63-year-old former military police officer was on the run.

According to information gathered by CNN Deveraldo worked for Captain Guimarães, leader of the animal game arrested on January 1 in Rio de Janeiro, in a joint operation of the Federal Police (PF) and the Rio de Janeiro Public Prosecutor (MPRJ). In addition to him, 13 other people were arrested preventively and 19 search and seizure warrants were fulfilled.

The condemnatory arrest warrant was issued by the 2nd Federal Criminal Court of Niterói (RJ), on Saturday (22).

The PF reported that the prisoner was sent to the state prison system, where he will remain available to the court.
