Former Minister of Education Milton Ribeiro, whose preventive detention was decreed this Wednesday (22), will go to Brasília, according to Federal Police sources heard by the CNN . He will go to the PF Superintendence, which issued the arrest warrants for the Acesso Pago operation.
According to the PF, the operation aims to investigate the practice of influence peddling and corruption for the release of public resources from the National Education Development Fund (FNDE), linked to the Ministry of Education (MEC).
Ribeiro’s defense said he asked for the custody hearing to be held by videoconference in São Paulo. Ribeiro lives in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo. Lawyer Daniel Bialski said he will file a request for release on habeas corpus at the hearing scheduled for Thursday (23), at 2 pm.
