Former Trump lawyer pleads guilty in 2020 Georgia election case

His former lawyer Donald Trump pleaded guilty today to six counts of conspiracy to aid the efforts of former President USA to overturn his election defeat in the state of Georgia.

Attorney, Sidney Powell, pleaded guilty to six counts of conspiracy for the purpose of willful election interference and agreed to testify against Trump and other co-defendants in the case if subpoenaed.

Trump, the leading candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in the 2024 presidential election, has pleaded not guilty to a sweeping Fulton County, Georgia, indictment of violating Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations, or RICO, law in his efforts to overturn his loss to Democratic incumbent Joe Biden.

Powell admitted to conspiring to illegally access voting machine security in rural Coffey County in southeast Georgia in January 2021. The settlement calls for six years of probation.

Powell represented Trump after the 2020 presidential election and helped spread his false claims that the election was marred by widespread voter fraud.
