Forty-six asylum seekers relocated to Italy

This morning, 46 asylum seekers departed from the airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” on a special charter flight to Italy, as part of the relocation program implemented by the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum.

To date, 147 migrants / refugees have relocated to Italy, including 25 unaccompanied minors.

According to the relevant data of the ministry, since the beginning of the implementation of the program, a total of 4,527 people have been relocated to other EU member states, including 1,074 unaccompanied children.

The resettlement program, launched in October 2020, is funded by the European Commission (DG HOME) and implemented by the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations Fund Children and the European Asylum Support Office.
